Characters:

Samus: The main heroine; as a result of her past (which includes the death of her parents), she often appears to be dark and brooding, sometimes lashing out when provoked, even by an ally. It’s also implied she suffers from a sort of multiple personality disorder, with the other side being a pure psychopath with a thirst for violence. However, she manages to control this “other side” for the most part and is able to get the job done one way or another.

Space Pirates: As their name suggests, the Space Pirates often raid supply ships and conquer planets to use for research, often claiming to be the master race of each world under their control. They are best known for their experiments with phazon and metroids, which often comes with disastrous results. Each of the Space Pirates is equipped with a battle blade and a wrist-mounted laser gun at all times.

Ridley: One of the high ranking generals of the Space Pirate forces, Ridley is the one behind the death of Samus’ parents. Believing in “survival of the fittest”, he is highly sadistic and somewhat arrogant. That being said, he is also very intelligent and an expert strategist.

Kraid: One of the other high ranking generals of the Space Pirate forces, Kraid does not have the same rank as Ridley does; as a result, Kraid houses a small grudge against the winged monster. Able to survive in extreme temperatures, Kraid is smarter than he looks but lacks Ridley’s strategic skills, which is shown by how Kraid’s battle plan usually amounts to “Charge!!”

Mother Brain: Mother Brain was originally one of the Galactic Federation’s Aurora Units, organic supercomputers charged with running the federation’s core networks. After somehow gaining sentience, Mother Brain went rogue after deciding the federation was composed of inferior life forms. Now the leader of the Space Pirate forces, the rouge AI plans to achieve “order” by conquering the universe. Mother Brain sees itself as a god and gets enraged when anyone questions its authority

Weavel: A high ranking general and leader of the Space Pirate Special Forces, Weavel was left for dead by Samus during one of her early missions. He was somehow able to survive by being resurrected as a cyborg with his brain and spinal cord intact. Weavel has a personal vendetta against Samus for his condition and covets the leadership of the Space Pirate forces.

Kanden: A genetically engineered super-soldier, Kanden was the only surviving test subject as he destroyed the lab he was created in. Coldly logical and ferocious, his ultimate goal is to become the ultimate bounty hunter with no peers.

Spire: Thought to be the last of the Diamonts, Spire travels the cosmos searching for any survivors of his race. He and Samus share respect in the fact that they are alone in the universe.

Trace: A member of the Kriken Empire, which is known for conquering several planets, Trace’s goal is to expand his race’s power while gaining the rank of hero for himself. An expert sniper with the ability to turn invisible, Trace is highly ambitious and often takes credit for the successes of others.

Sylux: A humanoid cyborg who wages a one-person battle against the Galactic Federation; Sylux hates Samus for siding with the federation and often chases her in the hopes of a confrontation. Sylux believes the federation is corrupt and only interested in ruling the galaxy rather than keeping the peace.

Noxus: A ruthless peacekeeper, Noxus is overzealous in his pursuit of justice and will often kill the innocent when he believes it’s necessary. He and Samus often clash over the ethics of the Galactic Federation, which Noxus considers to be “spineless”. With that being said, the two are sometimes forced to work together on missions.

Ghor: Despite losing over 90% of his body during a liberation war long ago, Ghor retains the empathy and compassion that makes him who he is. After every bounty, he often donates at least half of his pay to the victims of his targets.

Rundas: A somewhat overconfident yet successful hunter, Rundas is often sent on solo missions due to his arrogance. Nevertheless, he also carries a strong sense of justice and is a good friend to Samus.

Gandrayda: An expert at mimicking other lifeforms, Gandrayda considers Samus her chief rival and often tries to sabotage missions. Gandrayda is also a secret member of the Space Pirate forces who is tasked with undermining the Galactic Federation from within.

Commander Adam Malkovich: Leader of the 07th platoon of the Galactic Federation, Adam is also the closest person Samus has to a friend despite his harsh demeanor and difficulty forgiving those who disobey orders. His briefings with Samus usually end with the rhetorical question “Any objections, lady?” This is considered their way of noting their trust. Adam is also the only one aware of Samus’ mental health issues.

Metroid Prime/Dark Samus: Originally a simple metroid until being mutated by the hazardous substance known as phazon, the being known as Metroid Prime is able to control the mutating substance along with the minds of those corrupted by it. After being destroyed in its first encounter with Samus, Metroid Prime transforms itself into Dark Samus and forces the Space Pirates to work with it; at one point, Mother Brain and Weavel express disgust at these events.

Colonel M. Dread: One of the high ranking officials in the Galactic Federation; Colonel Dread is actually the head of “The Ringleaders”, a secret faction that plans to use metroids as biological weapons, along with being the ones who originally programmed Mother Brain.

Dr. Madeline Bergman: The creator of the Aurora Unit line; she is targeted by “The Ringleaders” due to her refusal to aid their plan to use metroids as biological weapons.

Hatchling: A metroid larva Samus spares from extinction; it sees Samus as its mother and often accompanies her on missions. The hatchling communicates through chirping, which is interpreted by how each chirp sounds, and stays in a special tank when Samus is away.

James Pierce: The communications expert of the 07th platoon; he is also a member of “The Ringleaders” known as the Deleter, an assassin who eliminates any witnesses to the organization’s plan.

Metroids: An artificial lifeform that was created by the Chozo in order to combat the deadly X Parasite. After the task was complete, metroids began to reproduce out of control and became a bigger threat than the X Parasite ever was.

Parasite Queen: A parasite mutated by phazon; many of the queens (2 out of 3) die from the mutation, while those who survive become extremely dangerous.

X Parasite: An organism that was virtually wiped out by metroids; it is able to assimilate victims and replicate them, though the facades are usually pointed out by the lack of emotions.

Chozo: A race of bird-like creatures that adopted Samus after the death of her parents; they infused her with their DNA in order to survive, which gave her athletic abilities that surpass normal humans.

Gorea: A powerful entity sealed away years ago; it attempts to escape by sending a message that tells of ultimate power.

Queen Metroid: The final stage of a metroid’s life cycle; queen metroids often serve as the source of many of the creatures, therefore killing one can easily drive the species to extinction.

Planets and locations:

Zebes: The planet used as a base by Mother Brain; it houses a labyrinth of underground caverns, notably Brinstar, Norfair, and Tourian.

Tallon IV: The first planet on which phazon was discovered; it is actually a biological paradise.

Aether: One of the early planets to be corrupted by phazon; this world has actually been torn into two separate dimensions of light and dark

Phaaze: The originating point for all phazon; the planet is actually sentient and often sends “living” meteors across the galaxy to spread the hazardous material.

Urtraghus: The homeworld of the Space Pirates; it suffers from acid rain and is just as hostile as the Space Pirates themselves.

SR388: The homeworld of the Metroids; this planet is the only place where the organism can go through its full life cycle.

Ceres Space Colony: A space station that serves as the Galactic Federation’s research lab.

Frigate Orpheon: Considered the flagship of the Space Pirate Forces; it is usually kept for research purposes, but also serves as Weavel’s command ship.

Bottle Ship: A derelict space facility used by “The Ringleaders” as a storage ship; after the organization disbanded, the ship is sent on a course for a black hole

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Samus’ suits:

Power suit: A suit built for Samus by the Chozo race, who adopted her after the death of her parents. The suit allows Samus to survive in hostile conditions that would kill normal humans.

Varia Suit: An upgrade that allows Samus to survive extreme temperatures and attacks from parasites. She is most often seen wearing this version.

Gravity Suit: An upgrade that negates gravitational limitations, allows Samus to travel freely through liquids such as water without the resistance/pressure, and provides better underwater vision.

Phazon Suit: An upgrade that protects Samus from the effects of blue phazon, along with being able to channel the hazardous substance.

PED Suit: An upgrade built by the Galactic Federation that allows the wearer to channel phazon, although not as strongly as the phazon suit. The PED suit also comes with a side-effect of terminal corruption if the phazon levels get too high.

Hazard Shield: An upgrade for the PED suit that allows the wearer to travel to inhospitable places such as the Pirate Homeworld and Phaaze

Dark Suit: An upgrade that screens out 80% of a planet’s corrosive atmosphere

Light Suit: An upgrade that screens out 100% of a planet’s corrosive atmosphere

Fusion Suit: A suit that fuses the original power suit with some of the various abilities of metroids; this gives Samus a greater range of movement and the ability to absorb X particles

Zero Suit: A blue bodysuit worn by Samus that allows her to use her full athletic capabilities at the cost of defensive power. It is usually worn under the power suit in the event of emergencies.

Justin Bailey: The outfit Samus wears to sleep; it is the outfit design seen in the ending credits for Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission. The term “Justin Bailey” is not mentioned in the show.
Came up with this a month or two ago, but never got around to posting it.

Took a few liberties with the plot of the games, so hopefully I haven't offended anyone.

Update: added more stuff; not sure if I'll update this in the future, but I doubt it
